COLORADO MOUNTED THUNDER!

COLORADO MOUNTED THUNDER is a family club dedicated to the fast-growing sport of MOUNTED SHOOTING.  Our members are from all over Colorado.  Most of our shoots are CMSA sanctioned events, but our members also shoot MSA and SASS.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming CMT Jackpot Winter Series to be held at Crossroads Arena in Penrose.  These shoots are CMT sanctioned.  You do not need to be a member of any association to compete.  Points will count for double CMT points.  Series runs November 2011 to March 2012.  See the schedule for details. 

Colorado State Championships and the Mid-Mountain Regional Championships were another great success!  We awarded 6 (six) Cimarron Thunderstorm pistols for the 3D winners of each shoot as well as $8000 in added cash payback to the classes!  Total Cash and Prizes are well over $12,000!!!  We paid out over $28,000 in cash at these shoots.

Announcing more ways to win with Mounted Thunder... We are tracking and awarding club points for year-end buckles to highpoint cowboy and cowgirl as well as other great prizes.  All members of Mounted Thunder are earning points (double points at Jackpot Practices) based upon the 3D format so that winners of each D win equal points as do placings in each D.  Points are tracked by horse and rider team.  Awards were presented at the completion of the Mid-Mountain Regional Championships in October.  You can track points throughout the year by clicking on the CMT Points under the schedule page.

 Points for Pets 2011!
We just wrapped up our second year with our Points for Pets 3D series to benefit the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.   In 2010 we raised over $2500.  Thanks to fantastic participation from our shooters, we raised $2270 from our club.  Thank you to Rampart Supply for again matching by 100% with an additional $2270.  The Humane Society has a benefactor that matches all contributions over $4000 with an additional $1000 for a total contribution of $5540 for 2011. 

We voted at the club year-end meeting to have a 3rd Annual Points for Pets Series for 2012 with even more prizes for our shooters.   Check the schedule page for upcoming shoots.
